GREETINGS TO ALL BST MEMBERS AND COLLEAGUESUpdates There is a change in the original schedule. Our own board member, Jerry McGill, PhD, will present his Ethics Workshop on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 1:00 pm following Dr. Jon Russell's presentation, The Fibromyalgia Syndrome. This is a 3-hour workshop and should meet your ethics needs for CEUs. Dr. McGill invites you to bring an ethical dilemma to the workshop. This is a presentation aimed at real world problems and real world solutions. There will be musical entertainment at the Saturday night social so plan to attend. Come - meet, greet and eat. Reminders The Early Bird 1 Special is fast approaching. Get those registration forms postmarked by September 1, 2007 to save a ton of money. The Early Bird 2 Special must be postmarked by September
15, 2007 to save a bit of money. Even if you register after the 15th, this is still a wonderful bargain. You would be wise, however, to get moving. We want to see you in Salado and bring a colleague. Go to bstx.org for full information and Registration Forms. Go to bfe.org to register for the pre-conference Thought Technology training workshop. These are CEUs that BCIA accepts for re-certification. You can come early and really enjoy all that Salado has to offer. You need to call the Stage Coach Inn by September 15th to guarantee a room on the conference campus. 254-947-5111. Mention BST. We are pleased to announce presentations by Doug Matheson, PhD, who is flying in from California to educate us. He is Professor Emeritus, Psychology, at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California and will present "A Comparison of Blood Flow Hemoencephalography & Neurofeedback on TOVA Scores in College Students" and a second presentation, "Effects of Humor on Human Behavior." We are still looking for colleagues who are interested in getting involved with the Board. Someone from Austin, San Antonio, Houston, or their environs would be wonderful. Right now we are North Texas heavy. We need people from other parts of our great state. Consider joining this wonderful Board. News: CONGRATULATIONS! Our own past-president, Randy Neblett, LPC is the chair-elect of BCIA. Our own past treasurer, Richard Davis, PhD is the current treasurer of ISNR and is on the ballot for President of that organization. Our own Barbara Peavey, PhD, scholarship chair and past president of BST, now sits as an AAPB Board Member. Our own Cindy Chandler, EdD, past president of BST, is helping start Assisted Animal Therapy Programs around the world including places like Poland, Russia, India, and Argentina. We would love to honor others who have gone beyond our State Society. Let us know if you want to mention a colleague's or your accomplishments. See you in Salado |
