BST President’s Message

GREETINGS AND HAPPY JUNE TO ALL MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE BIOFEEDBACK SOCIETY OF TEXAS

This newsletter is packed with information about the business of the Society and the upcoming 33rd Annual Conference, October 12 - 14, 2007 in Salado, Texas.  Please read it all.

MORE about the conference:

"Where is Salado, Texas and why have the annual meeting there?"

Some of you know that our conference took place there two years ago. We took a vote last year and many members expressed a desire to return to the peaceful surroundings of this charming Texas town.  Salado is much more than the Stagecoach Inn where we will be meeting.

Location is off I-35 midway between Waco and Austin.

Airports:

Easiest is to fly into Killeen-Fort Hood Regional, which is about 30 minutes away.  You can also fly into Austin-Bergstrom International, which is a little over an hour away or Waco Regional, which is an hour away.

"Salado"

is an Indian word describing the town's spring-fed creek.  The creek served as a stopping point for stagecoaches and Chisholm Trail cattle drives.  Today it is best known for its laid back atmosphere laced with the magic of days gone by.  Salado is an artist community with more than 100 working artists residing in the village and vicinity.  There are more than 100 shopping venues for clothing, jewelry, home décor, furniture, garden supplies, antiques, and fine art.  When not at the conference, you might try
Dining and Imbibing:

   * Roy T's Old Salado Bakery
   * Salado Wine Celler
   * Stage Coach Inn Restaurant

Nominations Message From Chairman,
Randy Neblett:

As part of the duties of past president, I am chair of the nominations committee this year.  I would like you to consider volunteering for service on the BST Board of Directors. New terms will begin this October at our annual meeting.  Board service can be professionally and personally rewarding and can open up new directions in your career.  If you have any interest at all, even casual questions about what a board member is responsible for, please contact me at randy@nebletthome.com.  I promise that if you just have questions, or are unsure about your interest, that I won't pressure you!  I hope to hear from you this summer.
